Award winning, Policy of Truth, is a short narrative film about the moment in life when you must begin to parent your parent. In our story the son, Dwight, must travel home to his father, Walter, who is facing early-onset Alzheimer’s to begin that process.
Over the last several years, Filmmaker Nick Demos, watched as both of his parents had the privilege and the heartache of parenting their parents. He witnessed their emotional rollercoaster and experienced his own raw emotions throughout.
Because this is a universal and challenging journey and far too many families are facing Alzheimer’s disease, he was inspired to make his film directing debut with an adaptation of Doug Bost’s short play Policy of Truth.
